PRESENT: 8 Councillors: Cllr. A. Lovell (Chairman), Cllr. K. Allen, Cllr. J. Hacking, Cllr. J. Henshall, Cllr. H. Newcombe, Cllr. G. Sowerby, Cllr. K. Sowerby and Cllr. M. Trevorrow. Mrs. E Illingworth (Clerk) was also present. There were two members of the public and Ms C Curtis from Eden Design

The Minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 24th May 2011 were agreed as a correct record but a copy was not available so will be signed at the next meeting.

 Cllr. A. Lovell declared a personal interest in application number 30/1395/11/F.

Cllr. M. Trevorrow declared a prejudicial interest in application number 30/1147/11/LB and did not take part in the vote.

Reasons: Change of use from storage to residential

6.      30/1342/11/F Householder application for replacement single storey extension and alterations to the house including conversion of part of the loft space for Mr J Pratt at Drift House, Maypool, Brixham. TQ5 0ET.                                                                                 NO OBJECTION

7.      30/1159/11/F Householder application for internal refurbishment including formation of new bathroom facilities. Renovation works include installation of new LPB tank and Photo Voltaic solar panels for Mr P Wyle at South Lodge, Greenway Road, Galmpton, Brixham. TQ5 0ES.

8.      30/1158/11/LB Listed building consent for internal refurbishment and external works for installation of solar panels, remove existing UPVC guttering and replace with cast iron and replace existing LPG tank for Mr P Wyle at South Lodge, Greenway Road, Galmpton, Brixham. 9.      30/1171/11/LB Listed building consent for hard and soft landscaping, internal and external works, minor works to farmyard and house courtyard to allow for turning and parking for Mr P Wyle at Lower Greenway Farm, Greenway, Brixham. TQ5 0ES.              NO OBJECTION

10.  30/1181/11/F Proposed replacement of existing dwelling and construction of quay wall for Mr P Dyball at Maypool Boathouse, Maypool, Brixham. TQ5 0ET. SUPPORTED with recommended conditions:

Historically Maypool Boathouse would not have been rendered. To avoid the dominance of a stark new build the following points should be conditions.

1. Continuing the stone work to the base of the ground floor windows.

2. Using a stone coloured paint, the predominant shade chosen to compliment the    stonework.

These 2 conditions would add visual cohesion between the only two properties visible in this small valley on the River Dart.

11.  30/1197/11/F Removal of condition 1 (3 week stay limitation) of planning consent 9/30/0392/97/3 for Mr R Wedd at Galmpton Touring Park, Greenway Road, Galmpton, Brixham, TQ5 0EP                                                                               NO OBJECTION

12.  30/1147/11/LB Retrospective listed building consent for installation of CCTV exterior units for Mr A Brownsword at Kittery Court, Priory Street, Kingswear. TQ6 0AB.   OBJECTION

Reasons: Loss of privacy and amenity to neighbouring properties.

Urgent Items

Two were agreed by the Chairman:

1.      Presentation by Ms C Curtis from Eden Design, the company who have carried out an independent Landscape Visual Impact Assessment for the Hunterswood Property, Greenway.

Ms Curtis was recommended to attend the meeting by the officer at SHDC to outline the new proposal to members ahead of the planning application, which will be assessed in the usual way. Councillors were able to ask questions concerning the proposed design, dimensions and materials to be used.

2.       None advertised, but one letter received concerning application 30/1147/11/F
